Dino Walk Cycle

This is a walk cycle I did for an animation I entered in a contest that Fox/Aniboom is having. It's not the greatest piece of work in the world or anything, but at least I'm getting some practice in Flash.

To view the whole animation, go here:

Hey Sonya!

I watched the whole thing, it was fun! Glad you got it all finished, it's pretty cute.

This walk cycle is super, you did a great job on those feet. I could give you some pointers on the the body cycle if you want to make it look a little less robotic. Not sure if you really want it right now that everything is done. :)

Yeah, I'd still like some pointers. I pretty much ignored the body cause I was rushing to get the animation done, so I know it could be much better. It'd still be great to try and improve it though, what would you suggest Holly?

Well, basically here's what I learned from doing that Raptor walk last year. If you put the body on a cycle that goes around in a circle instead of just up and down, it'll look like the dino is actually propelling itself forward instead of gliding. The wings/arms should be a secondary motion, so they're not moving with the body but rather where the body is tugging them.

That should lend a fair bit of life to him. As well as a blink, maybe opening and closing his mouth slightly as he walks and secondary actions on the feathers; but that would require more time :p Everything I said above you could probably do with what you already have.
